Aremu, Gabriel Olusegun
Segun Aremu was born in Iloffa, Kwara State, Nigeria on 9th November 1967. A 1988 Economics graduate of the Ahmadu
Bello University Zaria, Nigeria and a holder of a Master's degree in Business Administration, Segun is a fellow of
the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He graduated with a second class upper degree and won the
best student award at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)'s examination in 1993.
Segun Aremu currently seats on the board of many fast growing Nigerian companies namely Eternal Union Limited,
Damits Nigeria Limited, Earl Consults Limited and Credit Registry Services Limited.
A veteran public speaker, Segun Aremu post graduation working experience spans over 22 years in Audit, Accounting,
Consulting, Banking and Finance.
He is a Director in Eternal Union Limited, a renowned Consultancy firm and a Partner of Segun Aremu & Co,
an Audit and Enterprise management outfit.
Prior to venturing into private practice, Mr Aremu was an Assistant General Manager and the Regional Manager of
First City Monument Bank Plc. He was responsible for overseeing the bank's overall operation in the Northwest
Region consisting of 20 branches and covering 10 states of the federation. He participated fully in the astronomical
growth of the bank from a 5 branch organization to a publicly quoted company with over 150 functional branches between
2005 and 2009.
Mr Aremu was also a pioneer staff of the defunct Standard Trust Bank. He participated fully in the emergence of the
defunct Standard Trust Bank from the ashes of Crystal Bank for Africa through to the merger with the United Bank for
Africa-a world class financial services brand.
Prior to his banking career, Mr Aremu has worked and trained with one of the world renowned professional firms,
KPMG for 10 years. He trained and qualified as a chartered Accountant in this firm and rose to become the
Manager overseeing her Abuja operations.
Mr Aremu is married with kids and he is an external examiner to many tertiary institutions in Nigeria including
the Kaduna Polytechnic and the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda.
